Phaeolus schweinitzii
Phaeolus schweinitzii is often found at the base of coniferous trees- especially pines.
It forms an annual, fan shaped toad stool which often grows around grass or needle litter.
It has a distinct yellow rim to the dark flesh, when young and produces white spores.
Phaeolus schweinitzii causes a brown rot often rsulting in a brittle stem fracture.
