The Arb Show was held recently over the weekend of the 29th and 30th of June 2007.
It was a good show this year. There were all the usual aspects- chainsaws, climbing equipment, chippers, mewps, etc. The Arboriculture Association were present, along with LANTRA and HSE. Trevolution were conducting demonstrations in climbing and rigging. Stihl and Husqvarna had large stands along with Honey Brothers.
An interesting inclusion to the show was the ecology and conservation section. Arborecology had a large stand and were demonstrating air spading and cable laying without the need of trenching. They had some useful information on bats and deadwood. Next to them were the Trust for Endangered Species. There were some stag beetles on display and I saw my first stag beetle larvae- It was massive! Apparently they are in the larvae form for seven years!
Total Arb were affiliated with Arborecology and were offering a good subscription offer. They also had the very informative magazine- Tree News.
On the Friday night we all got very drunk and had a good time. Roll on next year.
